(I have only seen limited research on the chromophore distribution of the potato ore bodies in the Merlani hills.  Best thing ever for spent petroleum source rock (I am not joking).  The graphite (carbon) found in the mining is significant as the carbonaceous-rich source rock greased the folding forming the potato ore bodies in the Merlani HIlls. 

Tsavorite is believed to occur just after the Zoisite (tanzanite) and was formed during the long metamorphic uplift period ~600 - 400 Million years ago. (see the infracambrian section of Oman)
