Comments: Still attempting to verify the stone sold to me as Iolite. 

This is not bloodshot Iolite.  So I included this from Bart AI: "Other red gemstones that are sometimes marketed as "red iolite": Some unscrupulous sellers may try to pass off other red gemstones, such as ruby or garnet, as "red iolite" to charge a higher price." end quote. 

I believe these are rhodolite garnets sold as Iolite but I did not pay a red price for it.  GIA reported Orange.
