Comments: The original weighed 3.0 cts from a broker in Australia who was on a buying mission in S. Tanzania. Ross R. picked the blues out and sent the rest. FOco Gems cut to a 1.02 cts stone retaining 34% of the original.

The stone is an amazing stone and the stone changes from mauve to green in a classic Alexandrite color change.

FOco gems realized the presence of this exotic stone when cutting because the stone kept changing color when working on it (cutting lights versus normal incandescence).

A GIA certificate would be required to ID this fully as a Chrysoberyl (variety Alexandrite) which is why the stone is currently priced as a top grade color changing Sapphire.

Cotton fibers from the stone packing cases may be photographed on the stone.
